Give reasons to support your answer.<br />I think it is very important for Singaporeans to write plays for Singaporeans. Only fellow citizens can understand their own culture the best and thus make work easier for them to write. It is also better and the Singaporean audience may also understand it better. If Singaporeans rely on foreigners to write plays for them, the foreigners may encounter more problems than us. They probably have to check out for information or wait till they have a deeper understanding of our culture before they can write. It is also rather difficult for foreigners to understand another country's speciality so they cannot accurately write out or describe it. By allowing Singaporeans to write plays for Singaporeans, it can also encourage more young writers to write plays for Singaporeans rather than wasting their time on other things like playing computer games, etc. In the mean time, they can also do their part by contributing to the society. As mostly it uses languages that most probably only Singaporeans can understand, audience or children watching it may start to learn from the play and thus might learn Singlish from it.
